Tiny Bugs On Concrete Wall

The small gray bugs you find on concrete may belong to any of several species of insects.

Clover mites are an arachnid which makes them similar to spiders and ticks. Bugholes are found more frequently in the upper portion of the concrete structure or at angled form surfaces as a result of additive accumulation from escaping air voids along the height of the structure. They are tiny black gnat like bugs but they crawl fast especially in the sunlight they actually act like ants. I detected some tiny insects wandering over my concrete.

Well these bugs are called mites more specifically clover mites. They are covering the concrete walls and rocks outside but not really near the pla. They don t seem to fly. Some of these insects are attracted to damp areas of concrete such as in basements while others can be seen crawling over relatively dry concrete walls or on sidewalks.

They are under 1 mm even with a magnifying glass you can t really make out details but you can see these tiny black spots marching. What do clover mites eat. Clover mites generally feed on grass weeds and other vegetation. I noticed them at a rate of maybe 10 or so per square meter. These surface voids are primarily an aesthetic problem for exposed structural concrete. Mites on concrete female spider mites begin to produce eggs after mating and can have as many as 300 over a fortnight.
